Knights Rally For Late Win Over Lake Monsters
Okanagan first baseman Fernando Castillo was sensational. He was 4-5 with 4 singles and a walk, while scoring 3 runs, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Kingwood beat the Lake Monsters, 14-12. Castillo was named the player of the game despite the loss. The winner was Ronnie Priest in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Ryan Merrill took the loss. Josh Crowe, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 8th save.

Had Keisaku Yamashita not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Yamashita hit a grand slam. That made the score 14-12, in favor of the Knights.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Yamashita.

Losses have been few and far between for the Lake Monsters so far this season. Their record drops to 21-10.
