Aragon Goes Wild, But Panthers Win
|
Despite a great performance by Brisbane center fielder Ricardo Aragon, the Charleston Panthers defeated the Bush Wackers by the score of 8-6 at Franklin Mountains Field. Aragon went 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Ryan Hamblin picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-0. Jorge Rivera was tagged with the loss. Chris Elwell picked up the save for Charleston, his 1st of the year.
With two out in the bottom of the seventh, Doug Hinton stroked a go-ahead run-scoring single. It was his 23rd hit of the season and put Charleston in front, 7-6.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Hinton told a Charleston Gazette reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
The Panthers are off to a tough start, getting just their 12th win in 31 games.
