Tree City laid the wood on Winfield at The Barn.

Riding the 3-hit performance of the 24-year old catcher Yasuo Sakamoto, the Tree City Black Squirrels stopped the Winfield Warriors, 16-2. Roy Cohn earned the save for Tree City, his 1st of the year.

Travis Hickey, who is tied for 4th in the AHL in triples with 2, aided the Tree City cause with a bases-clearing triple in the top of the third. For the game, the second baseman went 3 for 5 with a triple and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Tree City manager Ramón Guerrero.

Winfield, at 7-20, is off to a poor start in 2033.
