Vikings Drop Emeralds with Late Score
|
The Vikings faced a stiff challenge from Eugene pitcher Elias Ortiz, but persevered to claim a win at The drakkar. The final score was 4-3. Ortiz went 8 innings and allowed 4 earned runs. Victoria reliever Pete Murphy picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Elias Ortiz absorbed the loss. The Vikings, now 22-7, have been red hot.
The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Victoria trailing 3-2, Will Otis hit a fastball from Elias Ortiz to right-center for a 2-run triple. Just like that, the Vikings had a walk-off win.
