Bush Wackers Come Back Late to Clip Bloodhounds
|
The Brisbane Bush Wackers picked up a win at Baylor Ballpark, knocking off the Boise Bloodhounds, 4-1. Starting pitcher Owen Kay, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Earning his 8th save for Brisbane was Danny Posada. The Bloodhounds, now 8-18, continue their poor start.
The Bush Wackers got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Hiroshi Kono. For the game, Kono was 1-1. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the eighth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 14th hit of the season gave Brisbane a 2-1 lead.
Kono called the win "a collective effort."
