Victory Pushes Jedi Knights Record to 13-10
|
Curt Sweet helped his team muscle past the Kingwood Knights, 9-1. In the game, the New Orleans center fielder went 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Bill Perez earned the win to go to 2-1. He allowed 1 earned run on 8 hits, with no walks and 3 strikeouts. The Knights fall to 11-13 and continue their wobbly start to the 2033 season.
The Jedi Knights got a big at-bat from right fielder Edwin Ruiz. For the game, Ruiz went 1 for 5 with a double. He drove in 3 runs. In the top of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 3rd double of the season gave New Orleans a 3-1 lead.
"I like winning," Ruiz told the New Orleans Daily News. "I may joke around, but when it comes down to it, winning is the most important thing."
