Saints Turn Back Victoria, 5-4
|
The St. Paul Saints beat the Victoria Vikings, 5-4 at Saints Ballpark, in part due to shortstop Dong-woo Lee, who nabbed player of the game honors. He was 3-4 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. St. Paul starter Sergio Solis was credited with the win after throwing 128 pitches over 8 innings. His record now stands at 4-0. Mike Foust recorded the save for St. Paul, his 1st of the season.
Eddie Govin, who is tied for 7th in the BOL in triples with 1, aided the St. Paul cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the designated hitter went 1 for 3 with a walk.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said St. Paul manager Ismael Rodríguez.
Losses have been few and far between for the Vikings, who are now 16-5.
