The Brisbane Bush Wackers topped the Bethesda Hornets by the score of 8-6, with the biggest share of the credit going to left fielder Brent Merendino. Merendino was 2-2 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI for the Bush Wackers on the day. The winner was Brisbane reliever Jorge Rivera, now 1-0. The loser was Javier Sánchez. Getting the save was Danny Posada, his 5th.

Jayden Smith drove in one run for Brisbane. The 21-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 6-6 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Gabriel Martínez. It was his 2nd RBI of the season.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Merendino said.

It was the 14th win in 19 games this year for the defending champion Bush Wackers, who are picking up where they left off.
