Frosties Top Sting in Extras
|
The Frosties faced a stiff challenge from Houston pitcher Brian Christ, but persevered to claim a win at Woodland Park. The final score was 5-4. Christ went 5 innings and allowed no earned runs. The winner was Barrow reliever Brian Mullins, now 1-0. The loser was Bob Jarvis. Getting the save was Troy Hannah, his 3rd.
Justin Nichols's hit in the top of the 15th was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a fastball from Bob Jarvis for a run-scoring single. It put Barrow in front, 5-4.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Nichols told the Barrow Chronicle.
The Sting fall to 8-11 and continue their wobbly start to the 2033 season.
