Victory Over Road Warriors Takes Brisbane to 13-5
|
The Brisbane Bush Wackers defeated the Westside Road Warriors, 8-3, in Donnie Moore League action at Baylor Ballpark, with Brisbane pitcher Esteban Montes named player of the game. Montes got the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. Montes allowed 2 earned runs. Brisbane, now 13-5, has gotten their season off to a good start.
The Bush Wackers got a big at-bat from center fielder Matt Rank. For the game, Rank was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Brisbane a 4-2 lead.
Montes called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
