Cyclones Bang Out 6-3 Win Versus Victoria
|
The Coney Island Cyclones topped the Victoria Vikings, 6-3, with youngster Tim Parker playing a key role. Parker went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Cyclones in the win. Coney Island reliever Bill Brock was the winner. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Jack Thompson. Losses have been few and far between for the Vikings so far this season. Their record drops to 16-3.
Parker contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Coney Island in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Parker took a changeup from Jack Thompson and stroked the home run to left. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Cyclones to leap in front, 3-1.
Parker called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
