Yamashita Helps Knights Run Win Streak to 3
|
The Kingwood Knights topped the Winfield Warriors, 14-4, with youngster Keisaku Yamashita playing a key role. Yamashita belted 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 for the Knights in the win. Ruben Luna got the win, improving to 1-1. He held the Warriors to 4 earned runs on 4 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 8 and walking 3. The Warriors, now 4-12, continue their poor start.
The Knights got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Phil Morgan. For the game, Morgan went 1-1 with a walk. In the bottom of the seventh, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 4th hit of the season gave Kingwood a 5-4 lead.
"We did more than enough to get the win," said Yamashita.
