Melo slugs 2 home runs, Frosties Move to 13-5
|
Barrow catcher Danny Melo played a vital role in his team's 9-3 triumph over Eugene. He slugged 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for Barrow. The Frosties keep rolling, raising their record to 13-5.
The Frosties got a big at-bat from left fielder Jamie Rose. For the game, Rose was 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 24th hit of the season gave Barrow a 4-3 lead.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Rose. "And not try to do too much."
