Texans Drop Grays with Late Score

Dallas right-hander Tony López made an effective start against the Georgia Grays at Metroplex Park, leading his team to a 2-1 win. Dallas reliever Coco Yamashita was credited with the win, to go to 2-0. Chung Chio took the loss for Georgia. Adrien Clément recorded his 8th save for Dallas.
Had Dave Stoner not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Stoner hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Texans.
"I had pretty good command out there," said López.
The Grays, at 18-33, have lost 4 straight games.
