Victory Over Emeralds Takes Barrow to 12-5
|
Barrow rode a decent outing from starter Guglielmo Tomei to victory over the Eugene Emeralds at Prefontaine Park. The final score was 7-3. In 5.2 innings, Tomei surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. Barrow goes to 12-5 with the win.
It could have been a different outcome for Barrow, had it not been for Daniel Hockley, the 24-year old center fielder . Hockley contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Barrow up, 1-0.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Hockley told the Barrow Chronicle.
