Victory Pushes Road Warriors Record to 8-7
|
The Westside Road Warriors grabbed a 8-2 win over the Tree City Black Squirrels at Road Warriors Field. Westside first baseman John Corkum went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice to earn player of the game honors. Roberto Duran got the save, the 1st for him this season. The Black Squirrels fall to 6-9 and continue their wobbly start to the 2033 season.
The Road Warriors got a big at-bat from right fielder Jarred Ferdig. For the game, Ferdig went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Westside a 6-2 lead.
In comments to the Westside Today, Corkum insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
