Hornets Come Back Late to Top Sting
|
The Bethesda Hornets defeated the Houston Sting, 5-3, in Donnie Moore League action at Hornets Field, with Bethesda right fielder Nick Corpus named player of the game. Jamie Morgan, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 4th save. The Sting fall to 6-8 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2033 season.
Corpus had a game-changing triple in the bottom of the eighth. On a first pitch changeup from Jeff Van Wormer, he banged a bases-clearing triple to right, giving the Hornets a 5-3 lead. It was the 4th triple of the year for Corpus.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Corpus said.
