Black Squirrels Get Road Win, 7-4
|
The Tree City Black Squirrels took Westside pitcher Jonathan Repasy's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Road Warriors Field. The final score had Tree City getting past the Road Warriors, 7-4. Repasy went 5.1 innings and allowed no earned runs, striking out 12. Earning his 4th save of the year was Cory Kieck. Every game is important, even these early ones, if the Black Squirrels hope to make a postseason run.
Dane Ridge chipped in for Tree City with a 3-run home run in the top of the first. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 4 RBI.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Ridge told the Tree City Gazette.
