Victory Over Cyclones Takes Okanagan to 7-3
|
Okanagan pitcher Luis González did his part in helping his team beat the Coney Island Cyclones, 8-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. González picked up the win for Okanagan, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 2-1. The save was credited to Juan López, his 1st.
The Lake Monsters got a big at-bat from right fielder Colin Carpenter. For the game, Carpenter was 3-5 with 2 doubles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the seventh, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 4th double of the season gave Okanagan a 3-1 lead.
"I really like what we did out there today," Carpenter said after the game.
The Lake Monsters, now 7-3, have been on a roll in the early going.
