The Brisbane Bush Wackers had no problem beating the St. Petersburg Pelicans, 16-0, at Baylor Ballpark. Angel Apodaca led the way. He went 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 7 RBI and scoring once for Brisbane. Dario Reyes picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-0. He struck out 6 in 5.2 innings. Earning his 1st save of the year was Miguel Torres.
In the bottom of the second inning, second baseman Danny Rodriguez came through big-time for the Bush Wackers. With Brisbane leading 2-0, he belted a 3-run home run.
St. Petersburg manager Kurt Brumfield called the blowout loss "ugly."
Brisbane, now 6-4, has gotten their season off to a good start.
