Kug Helps Emeralds Run Win Streak to 3
|
The Eugene Emeralds beat the Houston Sting, 11-6, at Prefontaine Park. The Emeralds got a fine performance from left fielder Tal-hun Kug, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3-3 with 3 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Franklin Cadonau earned the win for Eugene. He lasted 7.1 innings, allowing 5 earned runs on 10 hits, while striking out 9. With the win, he raised his record to 1-0. Eugene, now 4-7, is off to a slow start.
Kug had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the second inning, when he hit a run-scoring single. The Emeralds went on to win.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Kug told the Eugene Gazette.
