The Nichols Gnats defeated the New Orleans Jedi Knights, 3-2, in Lyman Bostock League action at The Pond, with Nichols pitcher Nick Copeland named player of the game. Nichols, now 7-4, has gotten their season off to a good start.

Rodrigo Perez aided the Nichols cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the catcher was 1-4 with a double.

"I like our moxie," said Gnats manager Reese O'Higgins.
