Lake Monsters Roll to 10-2 Win Over Cyclones
|
Okanagan shortstop Emanuel Torres was a significant contributor in his team's 10-2 triumph over the Coney Island Cyclones. He went 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 3 times for Okanagan. Jesús Rivera picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-0. He struck out 4 in 8 innings. The Lake Monsters, now 6-3, have been on a roll in the early going.
The Lake Monsters got a big at-bat from third baseman Kunihiko Kinoshita. For the game, Kinoshita was 1-4 with a walk. In the top of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 9th hit of the season gave Okanagan a 1-0 lead.
In comments to the Okanagan Times, Torres admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
