The St. Petersburg Pelicans defeated the Palm Beach Bums, 8-1, in Donnie Moore League action at Billy Mathews Field, with St. Petersburg pitcher José Carlos Ramírez named player of the game. Ramírez, now 1-1, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 1 earned run. The loss lowers the Palm Beach record to 4-5.
