Sting Drop Princes with Late Score
|
The Houston Sting beat the Bel Air Princes, 4-2, at Woodland Park. The Sting got a fine performance from third baseman Jerry Schnoor, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Houston reliever Jim Currie picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Toru Saito took the loss. With the loss, Bel Air sinks to 4-4.
Schnoor had a game-changing single in the bottom of the eighth. On a full count slider from Shayne Cluff, he banged a 2-run single to center, giving the Sting a 4-2 lead. It was the 6th hit of the year for Schnoor.
"We take it day by day here," said Schnoor, "and today was a good one for us."
