Knights Get Road Win, 7-4
|
Despite a fine performance by catcher Devon LeBrecht, the Coney Island Cyclones suffered a 7-4 loss to the Kingwood Knights. LeBrecht was 2-2 with 2 singles and 3 walks. Zane Gunter picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Aaron Prine was tagged with the loss. Josh Crowe was credited with the save for Kingwood, his 2nd of the season.
Wade Szarek helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run single to give Kingwood a 2-0 lead.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Szarek. "And not try to do too much."
The win gives Kingwood a record of 4-4.
