Kingwood center fielder Steve Pyles had a 4-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Okanagan Lake Monsters, 7-5. Steve Vincent got credit for the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed 3 runs on 7 hits in 7 innings. The Knights have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 2nd win in 6 games.
The Knights got a big at-bat from designated hitter Satomi Takano. For the game, Takano went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Kingwood a 4-2 lead.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Takano.
