Kingwood got a terrific performance from pitcher Yoshizo Kanemura, but it wasn't enough to beat the Okanagan Lake Monsters. Okanagan won the Stable Park contest, 4-3. Kanemura was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball. Junichiro Kobayashi closed the door for Okanagan, picking up his 3rd save of the year. Okanagan, now 4-1, has gotten their season off to a good start.

The Lake Monsters got a big at-bat from shortstop Emanuel Torres. For the game, Torres was 2 for 5 with a double. In the top of the tenth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 8th hit of the season gave Okanagan a 4-3 lead.
