Pelicans Jolt Shade with Late Rally

The St. Petersburg Pelicans stopped the Stroudsburg Shade, 6-4, at Tim Raines Stadium. The Pelicans got a big game from Arvid Schwartz, who went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Julián Salazar closed the door for St. Petersburg, picking up his 1st save of the year. The win takes St. Petersburg to 2-2.
Schwartz had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a first pitch fastball from Tom Greer, he banged a 2-run home run to right-center, giving the Pelicans a 6-4 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Schwartz.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Schwartz told the St. Petersburg Gazette. "It's as simple as that."
