Cyclones Win at Charleston, 10-5
|
Coney Island second baseman Antonio Martinez made his presence felt in the 10-5 Cyclones triumph over the Charleston Panthers. Martinez went 3 for 4 with 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI. Coney Island reliever Francisco Perez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Steve Henderson took the loss. Kenji Ito closed the door for Coney Island, picking up his 1st save of the year.
The Cyclones got a big at-bat from right fielder Clifton Leclair. For the game, Leclair went 1 for 5 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Coney Island a 2-1 lead.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Leclair told the Coney Island Bulletin.
Coney Island is off to a hot start at 2-1.
