2-1 Tune-Ups Win over Red Bulls Evens Season Record
|
The Tune-Ups had to overcome a fine effort from Riverside pitcher Héctor González to grab a narrow 2-1 win at Red Bull Stadium. González went 6.1 innings and allowed no earned runs. Jeff Spracklin got the win, improving to 11-8. He held the Red Bulls to 1 earned run on 6 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 2. The Tune-Ups bumped their record to 81-81 with this latest triumph.
Had Ryan Salzman not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Salzman hit a 2-run home run. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Tune-Ups.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Salzman.
