|
Long Island pitcher Sébastien Duval did his part in helping his team beat the Rock River Rats, 5-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Pedro Herrera, credited with the save, is now 6 for 6 in save opportunities. The last-place Ducks now have a win-loss record of 68-91.
Had Dave Ryder not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Ryder hit a bases-clearing double. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Ducks.
Ryder attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
