Buzzard's Bay first baseman Yasuhiro Nishimura was instrumental in his team's 5-2 win over the Phoenix Lights. Nishimura went 2-3 with no runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Beetlecats. Buzzard's Bay reliever Yasukatsu Yonemura picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Tim Gary took the loss. Ji-hwan Yea notched his 42nd save in 45 chances.

The Beetlecats picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Nishimura told the Buzzard's Bay Bulletin.

Buzzard's Bay goes to 85-74, Phoenix to 82-77.
