The Sandy Springs Spartans beat the Rock River Rats, 8-5, at The Coliseum. The win was largely due to the efforts of first baseman Tokio Yamaguchi, who captured player of the game honors. He was 1-2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Jae-bok Han notched his 22nd save in 29 chances. The Spartans bumped their record to 85-74 with this latest triumph.

Yamaguchi had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the first inning, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Spartans went on to win.

"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Yamaguchi.
