Cornhuskers Rally to Eke Out Win
The DeKalb Cornhuskers trumped the Long Island Ducks, 8-7, at Long Island Stadium. DeKalb first baseman Doug Hinton was named player of the game for his performance. He was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4. The win was credited to David Gilmour in relief. His record improves to 3-6. Jian-guo Yang took the loss. The Cornhuskers sit in 5th place in the Bob Moose League Bruce Bochy Division with a record of 81-78.

Hinton had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a 2-2 fastball from Jian-guo Yang, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Cornhuskers a 8-7 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Hinton.

Hinton told a DeKalb Today reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
