Enforcers Get Close Win Over Monarchs
|
The Enforcers faced a stiff challenge from Marysville pitcher Bill Almy, but persevered to claim a win at Mitts Fieldhouse. The final score was 10-4. Almy went 6 innings and allowed no earned runs. The winner was Atlantic City reliever Charlie Bennett, now 2-3. The loser was Walker Baldwin. Atlantic City is now 56-102, Marysville 73-85.
The result might have been different for Atlantic City, had it not been for Kazuki Ito. The left fielder produced a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Enforcers ahead, 6-3. For the game, Ito had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
