The skies opened up and the rain fell at Basque Block Field.
Boise designated hitter Alvaro Colon played a vital role in his team's 6-3 triumph over Riverside. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times for Boise. José Garza got the win, improving to 12-7. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 9 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 4.
The Hawks got a big at-bat from second baseman Jose Ortiz. For the game, Ortiz went 1 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Boise a 3-1 lead.
