The Phoenix Lights dealt the Newark Jail Birds a 6-3 loss at UFO Field. Ricardo Rivadeneyra was the star on offense. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Phoenix has now won 3 straight, while the Jail Birds have lost 3 in a row.
Rivadeneyra had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a 1-1 cutter from Allen Blair, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Lights a 6-3 lead. It was the 10th home run of the year for Rivadeneyra.
"This place was electric at the end," Rivadeneyra said.
