DeKalb got a terrific game from left fielder Eric Daniels. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Rock River, 6-4. Daniels was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win was Danny Zafra's in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Julián Diéguez took the loss for DeKalb. The first-place Rats, at 89-66, now lead their division by 4½ games.

Josh Kelly hit a 2-run triple off Julián Diéguez in the top of the 14th, which put the Rats in front, 6-4. In addition to the triple, Kelly had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 6.

In postgame comments, Kelly said, "I think we gave the fans their money's worth."
