The Cabo San Lucas Toreros turned back the Hawaii Islanders, 3-2, at Field de Los Layendas. Damian Hoolahan was named player of the game for his fine performance. He belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Masazumi Ohayashi went 6.1 innings for Cabo San Lucas to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 2 earned runs. He scattered 7 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 5. His record improves to 3-1. The Toreros are now 17-30, while the Islanders fall to 28-19.
Hoolahan contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Cabo San Lucas in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Hoolahan took a fastball from David Guzman and stroked the home run to left. His 9th home run of the season allowed the Toreros to leap in front, 2-1.
Hoolahan told a Cabo San Lucas Herald reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
