The Phoenix Lights downed the Newark Jail Birds, 11-3, at UFO Field. The Lights were led by Francisco Jacobo, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winner was Phoenix reliever Devon Labonte, now 6-0. The loser was Botol Soverosa. The Lights bumped their record to 79-76 with this latest triumph.

The Lights got a big at-bat from second baseman Cristián Bernard. For the game, Bernard went 1 for 3 with a walk. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 30th hit of the season gave Phoenix a 4-3 lead.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Jacobo told the Phoenix News.
