The Silicon Valley Hackers did just enough to sneak past the Riverside Red Bulls, 1-0, at San Jose Municipal Stadium. Silicon Valley pitcher Mario Deleón earned player of the game honors. Quiang Tu, credited with the save, is now 16 for 18 in save opportunities. The Hackers bumped their record to 87-65 with this latest triumph.
The Hackers got a big at-bat from first baseman Jorge Hernández. For the game, Hernández was 1-2 with a walk. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 95th hit of the season gave Silicon Valley a 1-0 lead.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Riverside skipper Will Hunt.
