Onishi Helps Beetlecats Run Win Streak to 3
|
The Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats bested the Atlantic City Enforcers by a score of 6-5, with catcher Fomio Onishi getting the main credit. On the day, Onishi was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Beetlecats. Buzzard's Bay reliever Takashi Toru got the win, raising his record to 6-5. José Vásquez was tagged with the loss. Ji-hwan Yea converted his 37th save in 40 tries.
Ralph Hemphill drove in one run for Buzzard's Bay. The 25-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch off Ted Thian. It was his 26th RBI of the season.
"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Onishi.
