The Phoenix Lights bested the Pacifica Shamrocks, 6-5, at McCormick Field. José Melgaza was named player of the game. He was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI. Phoenix reliever Devon Labonte picked up the win, upping his record to 4-0. Grant Huffman absorbed the loss. Marco Cruz converted his 1st save in 1 tries.
Melgaza had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the fourth inning, when he hit a run-scoring double. The Lights went on to win.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Melgaza told the Phoenix News. "It's as simple as that."
The Lights bumped their record to 76-74 with this latest triumph.
