Despite a great performance by Rock River first baseman Jim Feightner, the Fraser Valley Black Bears defeated the Rats by the score of 9-7 at The Rat Hole. Feightner went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Neil Coffin, the winner, improved to 5-3. He held the Rats to 1 earned run on 3 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 5. Ken Morita was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 4 of 4 save opportunities.

Fraser Valley needed the clutch hitting of Randy Griffin to notch the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Black Bears on top, 3-0. For the game, Griffin had 1 home run and 2 singles in 6 at-bats.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Griffin said.

Fraser Valley goes to 83-68, Rock River to 86-64.
