Marysville and Pacifica duked it out at Mitts Fieldhouse and the Monarchs came out victorious.

The Marysville Monarchs topped the Pacifica Shamrocks, 2-1, in Cory Lidle League action at Mitts Fieldhouse. The player of the game was Marysville pitcher and Ottawa, Canada native Bill Almy. Almy got the win, improving to 6-4. He allowed 5 hits and walked 3 over 7 innings. Almy allowed no earned runs.

Arvid Schwartz aided the Marysville cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the right fielder went 2-3 with a double.

"It was a tough night at the plate," said Pacifica manager Joe Leftwich.

Marysville has now won 4 straight.
