The Phoenix Lights beat the Atlantic City Enforcers, 8-6, at Parliament Field. Phoenix center fielder José Melgaza earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Juan Montés, who threw 74 pitches over 5.1 innings. The left-hander was charged with 1 run on 2 hits. Juan Salinas got the save, his 39th in 43 chances.
Hakaru Fukuda aided the Phoenix cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the first. For the game, the designated hitter was 1 for 3 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI.
