The DeKalb Cornhuskers topped the Sandy Springs Spartans by the score of 8-5, with the biggest share of the credit going to catcher Jeff Henson. Henson was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times for the Cornhuskers on the day. DeKalb reliever Bill Poulin picked up the win to move to 1-0. Juan Yarrito suffered the loss.
