Dave Ryder knocked in 3 runs to help Long Island beat Spokane, 8-6. The designated hitter collected 1 single, 1 double, and 1 home run. The Ducks are now 64-83, while the Bulldogs fall to 75-73.
Ryder had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-2 fastball from Pierson McClelland, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Ducks a 6-5 lead. It was the 21st home run of the year for Ryder.
"We try to keep the mood light around here," said Ryder. "Winning helps."
