Victory Pushes Predators Record to 75-74
|
The Topeka Predators overcame a good performance by Sandy Springs center fielder Hirofumi Ishibashi to knock off Sandy Springs, 7-3, at The Field at Richmond. Ishibashi went 4 for 4 with 4 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Pete Tupper converted his 4th save in 4 tries. Sandy Springs now has a 5-game losing streak.
The Predators got a big at-bat from third baseman Kevin McVey. For the game, McVey went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Topeka a 5-2 lead.
"We take it day by day here," said McVey, "and today was a good one for us."
